The Philadelphia Eagles have claimed safety Blake Countess off of waivers, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Countess had been waived by the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday, so he was not on the market very long before being picked up by the team that initially drafted him three years ago.
The 25-year-old played in all 16 games with the Rams this past season, but had a very limited role, logging just nine tackles, an interception and a couple of passes defended.
Countess, who played his collegiate football at Auburn University and the University of Michigan, was originally selected by the Eagles in the sixth round (196th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.
However, he was then waived by the Eagles just before the 2016 campaign began and went on to sign with Los Angeles' practice squad a couple of days later.

Then, the following year, Countess participated in all 16 games, but, much like this past season, his role was limited, as he totaled 16 tackles and a pick.
Countess marks the second safety that Philadelphia has claimed this week, as it also landed Godwin Igwebuike. Of course, whether or not either player actually ends up making the Eagles' roster is questionable.
Philadelphia is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which it won nine games and snuck into the playoffs as a Wild Card. It defeated the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card Round but went on to fall to the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round.
