He then highlighted Brooks' qualities off the field. “I am most proud of the way Brandon represents our organization with exemplary class. He is one of the most thoughtful and bravest athletes I have ever been around,” the Eagles CEO said.
The guard said he talked to other veteran Eagles stars like Jason Kelce and Brent Celek to help make his final decision at the age of 32.
Brooks thought it was best to retire before suffering a more serious injury than the ones he has dealt with throughout his career. Mostly recently, Brooks suffered a pectoral strain in Week 2 of the 2021 season and was placed on Injured Reserve. Before this, Brooks suffered two torn Achilles and a dislocated shoulder in the second half of his career.
