The Philadelphia Eagles came up short against the Detroit Lions in Week 3 of the 2019 NFL season. Unfortunately, it appears they have suffered a further blow with cornerback Ronald Darby.

Darby was forced to exit the game during the third quarter after suffering a hamstring injury and was never able to return. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, he is slated to miss a few games with the injury.

Darby had been enjoying another strong outing against the Lions. He finished the game with six tackles before being forced to exit the loss.

The prospect of Darby having to miss some time certainly deals a crushing blow to the secondary. The Eagles had done a solid job of staying resilient amidst their recent slew of injuries to start the season. Although a timetable for his return still has yet to be determined, his absence will serve as another notable void on the roster for the time being.

Darby had been piecing together a solid start to the year after registering 14 tackles and an interception through the first three games. Unfortunately, Philadelphia will have a short week to make their adjustments as they get ready to square off against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night in Week 4. The only healthy cornerbacks left to take his place are Rasul Douglas, Sidney Jones, and Avonte Maddox.
