The derailing Philadelphia Eagles unexpectedly found themselves within striking distance against the Baltimore Ravens in their Week 6 matchup after trailing by as many as 18 points in the third quarter and 16 points in the fourth quarter. The Eagles managed to mess up their comeback by failing to convert a two-point scoring attempt and an onside kick to lose, 30-28.
The two-point conversion attempt was an absolute disaster, with Carson Wentz getting stuffed on a read-option play that was dead to rights immediately. It looked like there was possibly some miscommunication on the play, and the execution was obviously lacking.
Eagles head coach Doug Pederson explained the botched play:
Doug Pederson on WIP on failed 2-pt conversion: We had exhausted all of our red zone plays by that point. In retrospect, should have called our last timeout to pick a better play. #Eagles

After a slow start without a single point scored in the first half of the game, the Eagles bounced back and scored 22 points in the final frame. Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz did all he could to put up a fight against the heavily favored Ravens and finished with 213 passing yards via 21 completions on 40 attempts to go along with two touchdowns and no interceptions. It was also his first game without a pick in the 2020 NFL season.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson recorded lesser numbers with 186 passing yards on 16-of-27 passes completed and a passing touchdown. Jackson added 108 yards on the ground and a touchdown.
The Eagles entered the game missing seven of their offensive starters, while also abruptly losing Sanders and tight end Zach Ertz due to injuries. Philly can take away some positives from the comeback despite being shorthanded, but moral victories only go so far.
The defeat dropped the Eagles to a 1-4-1 record to sit in second place in the NFC East, while the Ravens are now 5-1 in a stacked AFC North.
