The Philadelphia Eagles just finished up the first year of their rebuild. The 2021-2022 season was considered extremely successful for the Birds. They finished the regular season above .500 at 9-8, and even had a playoff run, albeit short.
Now, the Eagles, along with the rest of the NFL, are preparing for the 2022 NFL Draft. Philadelphia has two first-round picks in the upcoming draft, giving the team multiple opportunities to continue its rebuild.
Many mock drafts predicted that the Eagles focus on defense with their first few selections. However, after a recent comment by Jameson Williams, that doesn't seem to be the case.
According to the top draft prospect, the Eagles are interested in drafting him. NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark tweeted the news Wednesday afternoon.
Alabama WR Jameson Williams told me the Eagles told him they would like to draft him
“They told me they would love to see me alongside DeVonta. I think that would be an explosive offense and something nobody has seen before”

Williams also explained how the Eagles said he would fit into their offense.
“They told me they would love to see me alongside DeVonta,” the wide receiver said, referring to DeVonta Smith.
Just last year, the Eagles used their tenth overall pick to draft Smith out of Alabama. Unfortunately, Williams is more than likely out of reach for Philadelphia. The team's first pick isn't until 15th overall, and Williams could easily be picked up before then as arguably the top receiver in his class.
However, nothing is impossible. Rumor has it that Howie Roseman could be trading his way into the top ten selections. If the Eagles land an earlier position in the 2022 NFL Draft, a Williams/Smith Crimson Tide duo could be the next big thing in Philadelphia.
