Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz has officially set a franchise record for most receptions in a single season. Ertz secured his 91st catch during the team's Monday night game against the Washington Redskins, and that allowed him to pass Bryan Westbrook for the top spot. Westbrook had 90 receptions for the Eagles back in 2007.
Of course, the most intriguing part of Ertz's incredible season is the possibility of him reaching the record for most catches by a tight end in a single season. Former Dallas Cowboys tight end and current Monday Night Football analyst Jason Witten owns that record with 110 catches.

Ertz has simply been on a tear this season, as he entered this week's game with 84 receptions for 895 yards and six touchdowns.
Despite opposing defenses focusing in on him in the passing game, Ertz has still been able to produce on a consistent basis, with his only lackluster performance coming in the 48-7 loss in New Orleans a few weeks ago. Given the way their season has been going, the Eagles will need him to continue producing at a high level if they want to return to the playoffs for a shot at defending their Super Bowl title.
Philadelphia entered Week 13 with a 5-6 record overall, and it may take a significant winning streak down the stretch to make it back to the postseason.
