DeSean Jackson marked his return to the Philadelphia Eagles with a season-opening 51-yard touchdown reception from franchise quarterback Carson Wentz.

Down 17-0 to the NFC East rival Washington Redskins, the 26-year-old Wentz found a sprinting Jackson down the middle, eluding the Skins' secondary for an over-the-shoulder haul.

Jackson was seminal member of the Eagles during the beginning of his 12-year professional career. Philly selected the University of California-Berkeley product in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. With the Eagles, Jackson earned three Pro Bowl selections and proved himself to be a top receiver in the City of Brotherly Love.

Jackson's tenure with Philadelphia ended in 2014 when he signed as a free agent with—who else—the Redskins. After the expiration of his three-year contract with Washington, Jackson inked another three-year deal, this time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Eagles reunited with their former wideout by trading a 2019 sixth-round pick for the then-Bucs receiver in March of this year.

So far, it looks like Philly's reunion with Jackson is a fruitful one. While the Birds face a 10-point deficit at halftime at their first game of the season, Jackson leads the wide receiver corps with five receptions, the aforementioned touchdown, and 73 yards. Right now he is averaging 14.6 yards per reception, a healthy mark for the 32-year-old.
