The Philadelphia Eagles are in the running for the top of the NFC East, and a win against the Chicago Bears will help the see the top of their division and keep the pressure on the Dallas Cowboys. A win will be something Eagles fans will be happy about as they're a bye team in Week 10.
Doug Pederson will be able to find this game a bit easier compared to some of their first eight matches this season. As long as their offense clicks into high gear, they should be able to outscore an impotent Chicago offense.
As long as the Eagles keep on playing their game, there's no reason why they wouldn't be able to take the W. Here are three hot takes on what the Eagles offense will do to a Bears defense that's doing everything it can to keep the team afloat.
3. Carson Wentz will have a big game
Wentz has been a decent field general for the Eagles, throwing 1821 passing yards and 14 touchdowns. However, he's yet to reach the levels of QBs like Russell Wilson and Tom Brady in terms of consistency.
Half of the games he'splayed saw him finish with less than 200 passing yards. While he scores touchdowns in every game he plays, the times where he only scored more than one touchdown is too few to be effective. He needs to impose his will more if he's to take Philly to the next level.
Since his last two games have been lackluster in terms of passing yards, this will be the game where he makes a statement. He will finish with more than 300 passing yards and three touchdowns in order to declare the team's intentions of playoff contention.
2. Jordan Howard will get 100 rushing yards
Article Continues BelowThere's a reason to expect a big game from Jordan Howard once the first whistle is blown. He started his career with the Bears when he was taken in the fifth round of the 2016 Draft. He's going to be a key player for the Eagles as he prepares to face his former team.
He finished against the Buffalo Bills on a high, finishing with 96 yards and a rushing touchdown. It was unfortunate that he wasn't able to break the 100-yard mark, but he's likely going to do it against a team he's very familiar with.
Since he's played with many of the players in Chicago, he knows how to exploit their weaknesses and which part of the line would give him space to operate.
1. Philly will score four touchdowns
It's going to be a tough game for the Eagles since the Bears do have one of the best defenses in the league. They're sixth in defensive rushing yards and tenth in defensive passing yards.
However, the team is motivated to play good football. Not only is the bye week quickly approaching, but also their strong outing against Buffalo will urge them to perform better. The Eagles have enough quality about them to score at least four touchdowns.
