The NFL world was absolutely shocked on Saturday morning after it was announced that former Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders quarterback Dwayne Haskins passed away in a tragic car accident. He was just 24-years-old.
By no surprise, NFL reporter Adam Schefter broke the news. However, his initial tweet was inconsiderate as ever, stating Haskins “struggled” to latch on with an NFL team:
How about “ Dwayne Haskins, son, husband, buckeye brother, friend, beloved teammate has passed away” TF his career ups and downs have to do with him unfortunately losing his life🤦🏾♂️ STFU! Let his family & friends grieve instead of throwing shade. Praying for the Haskins family!! pic.twitter.com/gb1D9KcgCQ

Cardale Jones also played at Ohio State like Dwayne Haskins and absolutely eviscerated Schefter for his tweet which he quickly deleted after realizing he was out of line. Here are some more reactions from NFL players:
You gotta do better @AdamSchefter !!! This is wild!! A MAN lost his life!! https://t.co/BowSkkLw66

NBA legend Jamal Crawford also reacted:

Sickening from Schefter. Dwayne Haskins just lost his life and he's out here talking about his struggles in the league. Schefter has been catching a lot of flak lately for some of his content on Twitter, but instead of owning up to his mistakes, he simply just deletes the tweets.
Haskins was hit by a car in South Florida after training with fellow Steelers players. He was about to turn 25 in early May. RIP and prayers to his family. As for Schefter, he should be issuing an apology himself because there is no room for this type of behavior when talking about such a sensitive topic.
