There is no doubt that veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will finish his NFL playing career as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, it remains to be seen as to just how long his career will continue — and at what cost to the Steelers, of course.
Nonetheless, according to a recent report from Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network, the two sides are currently in the midst of “ongoing talks” regarding what will likely become “Big Ben's” final NFL contract. The details of such a deal have yet to come to light, though.
“We feel comfortable knowing Ben is our quarterback and our leader,” Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert recently told Kinkhabwala.
The #Steelers contract talks w/ Ben Roethlisberger are “still ongoing,” GM Kevin Colbert said. “This is probably his last contract as an NFL player, so it’s significant” – to the player and club, he said.

Of course, Roethlisberger has spent his entire NFL career as a member of the heralded Steelers, a tenure that infamously began back in 2004. Selected by the Steelers in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft out of Miami (OH), the seasoned signal caller then led the AFC North franchise to three Super Bowl appearances en route to capturing a pair of titles along the way.
Roethlisberger was notably part of one of the best quarterback draft classes of all time with Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers and New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning also coming off the board back in 2004. While Rivers has yet to win a Super Bowl, Manning has won two titles of his own to match Roethlisberger. It is also worth noting that all three signal callers have spent their entire careers with the same franchise.
