Cowher will join former Steelers head coach Chuck Noll in the Hall of Fame — he is the second coach to do it in Pittsburgh's history. He will be the 22nd primary Steelers member enshrined in Canton, Ohio when the ceremony concludes in August. Cowher will also join three Steelers he coached in Jerome Bettis, Rod Woodson, and Dermonti Dawson.
How Bill Cowher found out about his induction into the Hall of Fame was fascinating as it took place on live TV. His coworkers on the CBS pre-game show between the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans surprised him with the announcement. Cowher's family joined the set shortly after.

The 62-year-old former Steelers coach got emotional at the moment. He also stated that he was just surprised that he wasn't fired before his high school's 20th reunion.
Bill Cowher coached the Steelers from 1992 to 2006, acting as Noll's predecessor. He led them to eight divisional titles, 10 playoff appearances, and a Super Bowl win. The now Hall of Fame coach had a 149-90-1 record as a head coach in Pittsburgh. He moved to the studio after his retirement in 2006, handing the keys of the Steelers' organization to current coach Mike Tomlin.
The full list of inductees will be revealed on Jan. 15 on NFL Network's “Good Morning Football.” The Hall of Fame class will include 10 seniors, three contributors, and two coaches.
