There are always plenty of storylines to watch heading into any duel between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns. This upcoming clash between the two surely is no different.
Among the storylines to watch for in this edition of the Steelers and Browns rivalry centers on the play of two of the more dynamic pass rushers in the NFL today with both Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt and Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.
Watt led the NFL in sacks last season with 15.0. This year, Garrett sure is aiming to finish the campaign at the top of the leaderboard in this stat. He leads the league in sacks with 9.5, which currently has him on pace for what would be an astounding 23.0 sacks season.
Coming into this clash between the Steelers and Browns, Garrett not only has an eye on getting to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger but also on outperforming Watt in the game, which he touched on during a press conference on Friday.
“I think it is in my mind and it is in his,” Garrett said. “We both want to be as productive as we can for our team, but we want to be the best defensive players on the field at any given time. As long as we share the field, we want to be dominating more than the other person.”
Garrett sure will have much to do in order to outperform Watt in Week 8. Watt is coming off of the two sacks and one forced fumble performance in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks. More so, the Browns offensive line has had vast struggles over the campaign; Browns quarterbacks have been sacked a combined 19 times through seven games this season.
Watt and Garrett may put out for a pass-rushing clinic on Sunday.
