The Pittsburgh Steelers delivered a statement win on Monday Night Football, shaking off adversity and asserting control in a 28-15 victory over the Miami Dolphins (6-8) at Acrisure Stadium.

After the game, veteran defensive leader Cameron Heyward appeared on SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt, where he was asked about quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ leadership and what sparked the offensive turnaround.

“I think there's a level of accountability he brings to the group, the way he challenges guys, the way he communicates,” Heyward explained. “There's a lot of stuff you see during practice, but then off the field, he's working with guysmaking sure they're, you know, it's not just the offensive line, it's the wide receivers, the tight ends, they all play a big role in what he wants to do. And he just keeps talking about it.”

Heyward’s comments highlighted that Rodgers’ impact goes beyond what fans see on game day. Despite being new to Pittsburgh, Rodgers has embedded himself into every position group, reinforcing expectations and standards across the offense.

Playing in frigid conditions, Pittsburgh initially appeared headed for a conservative, grind-it-out contest. Instead, the game flipped dramatically just before halftime.

Beginning with their final possession of the first half, the Steelers’ offense caught fire. That offensive surge turned a tight game into a commanding win and reinforced the Steelers’ identity as a team built on collective responsibility.

Van Pelt followed up by asking whether Rodgers’ demanding style earns him leeway with teammates. Heyward made it clear that accountability runs in both directions.

“I think that and then we can hold him [Aaron Rodgers] accountable too,” Heyward added. “We let him know when he's playing like c*** too. “I think we all know we all have to play at a different level to games in this league and you know, it starts with myself…We all have to be accountable, we know we're not running from that and we have a mature group that really talks about that.”

That mindset was evident on the field. Rodgers delivered precise throws, including a key touchdown pass to DK Metcalf that effectively sealed the game. The veteran field general finished the game with 224 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the Steelers’ defense overwhelmed Miami, punctuated by Heyward’s punishing sack of Tua Tagovailoa, he also recorded five tackles in this game. The win pushed Pittsburgh to 8-6 and strengthened its grip on the AFC North race, while Miami’s playoff hopes faded.
