By now, every football fan is aware of how good Chase Claypool really is. The Pittsburgh Steelers' rookie has been one of the biggest steals of the 2020 NFL draft. He's looking the end his debut season in Pittsburgh as one of the best offensive rookies in the league. As good as Claypool is when it comes to his receptions, there's been one unique stat he's been leading in the league this season and that's forcing DPIs.
The wideout forced his eighth DPI call of the season last Monday night in the Steelers' first loss of the season against the Washington Football Team. Although these penalty calls don't really standout, these can be crucial especially with all the yardage it gives your team. That DPI call on Claypool on Monday ultimately put the Steelers in FG distance which helped them keep the game close. Though they did end up losing for the first time this season, these crucial plays from Claypool are adding up and turning out huge for the Steelers offense.
Per steelersdepot.com, the Notre Dame standout not only leads the league in forcing DPIs with his eight, he also leads the league in total yards resulting from all those penalty calls.

If you add these penalty yards to his 649 receiving yards so far this season, that puts the rookie just 166 yards away from tallying a total of 1,000 yards in his first year in the league.
Not bad for a 49th pick, huh?
