The Pittsburgh Steelers are facing off against the Cleveland Browns, and a win today could go a long way for their playoff chances. Unfortunately, the game didn't start off the way they may have liked, but they also had an injury to one of their offensive players, according to Steelers director of communications Burt Lauten.
“Steelers TE Darnell Washington has a forearm injury and is questionable to return to today's game,” Lauten wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The news didn't get any better as Washington was later ruled out for the game. It was a big development for the Steelers, as they're already without DK Metcalf after he was suspended for the last two games of the regular season because of the incident he had with a Detroit Lions fan last week.
Aaron Rodgers now has to find a way to spread the ball around to his other receivers, and he may have to rely on the run game, which has not been that effective this season. Nonetheless, the Steelers have found ways to win with less this season, and as long as Rodgers is playing, they have a chance.
The offense is the only group for the Steelers who is missing key players. TJ Watt has missed the past few games because of a lung injury, but he should be back on the field. Despite the injuries, the Steelers are still at the top of the AFC North, and the Baltimore Ravens are creeping right behind them. A win or a tie against the Browns will help them clinch the division.
On the other hand, if they were to lose, then it would come down to the final week of the season to decide who will win the division. between them and the Ravens. The Steelers don't want to put themselves in that position, so winning today would be big.
