Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Mike Hilton is practicing with the team, but he is still hasn't signed a contract to play with the team in 2019. Earlier this offseason, Hilton was tendered an exclusive rights free agent, which means he had a few different options on how to move forward.

Hilton could sign the tender and play this season for $645,000, sit out the season and not play for anyone, or not sign it and hope the team will offer him a bigger contract.

Hilton hasn't signed the contract yet and is practicing in hopes that the team will offer him a larger contract before the season starts. The former Ole Miss standout told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that he's letting agent Drew Rosenhaus try to get him a new contract, while he tries to prove why he deserves it on the field.

“I’ve got to just find ways to fight through the hands against wideouts and be more aggressive when the ball comes around and try to make plays on the ball,” Hilton said. “Get some more turnovers [because] that’s something we as a whole could use on the defensive end.”

After bouncing around to start his career, he seems to have found himself a nice spot with the Steelers, but it's unclear if the team is wanting to offer him a new contract.

If the team doesn't offer him a deal before the start of the season, Hilton will have to decide if he wants to sit out a season or just take the $645,000 to play this year and try to earn the long-term extension that way.
