Pittsburgh Steelers star running back Najee Harris is anything but soft. It takes just one look at a single game's worth of film from his time in Pittsburgh or during his collegiate career playing for Nick Saban at Alabama to verify that he is one of the toughest runners in all of football. But even the toughest of tough have their limits.
In an interview with NFL Network shared on the Steelers' TikTok account, Harris tells the story about how he once passed out at one of Nick Saban's storied Alabama practices.

Najee Harris is originally from Martinez, California, which is just northeast of Oakland. That makes for quite the double jump going from the beautiful Bay area weather to the humid deep south, and then onto the wintery Rust Belt. Passing out from what Harris would call Alabama's “team run” drill is a bit ironic, considering he has run for more yards than any other player in Crimson Tide history with 3,843 rushing yards.
Harris would go on to talk about his then transition to the brutal cold of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where Harris spent his rookie season with the Steelers after being the 24th overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft. He spoke briefly about his first cold game, which was a mid-November home matchup against the visiting Detroit Lions. “I got tackled one time, that was the first time I felt all the hits in the NFL” Harris would say.
With his Alabama career in the books and a successful rookie season in the NFL, it's safe to say that Najee Harris is an all-weather running back.
