Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers came into the 2019 NFL Draft looking to make some noise. They were able to do just that, although not in the way that many thought. Pittsburgh went out and traded up with the Denver Broncos to get the No. 10 overall pick and selected Michigan linebacker Devin Bush.
In order to get up to No. 10, the Steelers had to give up the No. 20 overall pick, the No. 52 overall pick, and a 2020 third-round pick.

Needless to say, this was a blockbuster move that the Steelers felt they needed to make. Following the injury to Ryan Shazier a couple of years ago, Pittsburgh desperately needed to find another defensive captain. Bush has the potential to become a star in the very near future.
Article Continues BelowLast season at Michigan, Bush racked up 66 total tackles to go along with 4.5 sacks and four defended passes. He has top-notch speed and the ability to cover tight ends in the passing game.
Pittsburgh may have given up a lot to get their new linebacker, but the fans are going to love what they see. Bringing in a playmaking linebacker was a necessity and the Steelers were able to get the job done.
Hopefully, Pittsburgh will be able to get back to having a lethal defense. They have been missing that kind of defense over the last few years and are making it clear that they want to get back to having a stone wall defense. Bush is a huge step to getting back to that level of play.
