JuJu Smith-Schuster announced on Friday that he is staying with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, some other teams apparently came in with strong pitches to lure away the wide receiver from Pittsburgh.

Taylor Bisciotti of the NFL Network asked Smith-Schuster if he had discussions with other teams. The 24-year old revealed in the virtual interview that the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens made a strong push to get his services.

Smith-Schuster also admitted that he actually declined better offers from other teams and that Pittsburgh had the “third lowest offer.” However, he revealed that the return of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger played a huge role in his decision to ultimately return to the Steelers.

Smith-Schuster eventually signed a one-year, $8 million deal to stay put. With that said, it seems like the one-time Pro-Bowler has some unfinished business with the Steelers after fizzling out in disappointing fashion in the postseason.

Pittsburgh started out strong last season, winning 11 straight to begin their campaign before dropping four of their last five contests. They then lost in Wild Card Round to the Cleveland Browns. Smith-Schuster drew a ton of flak for his pre-game insults to the Browns franchise. Obviously, his words came back to haunt as Cleveland moved on to the Divisional Round.

Smith-Schuster may be staying in Pittsburgh for at least this season. However, it's still worth wondering just how good of an addition he would have been for Kansas City running alongside Patrick Mahomes or the Ravens with Lamar Jackson.

Nonetheless, that's an alternate universe that we could just ponder about at this point. It could still happen in the near future, though.
