The Los Angeles Rams experienced a resurgent 2017 season that saw them snap a decade-plus playoff drought. Much of that success came from the strong play of second-year quarterback Jared Goff, which helped him earn a selection to the 2018 Pro Bowl as the replacement for injured Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.

Goff was previously named as a first-alternate for the contest, which made him the primary option in place of Wentz, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear earlier this season. Following a lackluster rookie campaign, the 23-year-old bounced back in a major way in 2017, throwing for 3,804 yards on a 62.1 percent completion rate along with 28 touchdowns to just seven interceptions. He finished both fifth in the league in touchdowns passes and passer rating (100.5), and 10th in total passing yards.

It didn't take long for Goff to use social media to voice his excitement for the opportunity to participate in the Pro Bowl for the first time in his brief NFL career.

The former 2016 first overall pick also became the first player in Rams franchise history to pass for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in consecutive games. He was also one of three quarterbacks, alongside Kansas City Chiefs Alex Smith and New England Patriots Tom Brady, to accomplish that feat three times this past season.

Goff is now one of seven Rams players to be selected for the Pro Bowl, alongside defensive tackle Aaron Donald, left tackle Andrew Whitworth, kicker Greg Zuerlein, special teams returner Pharoh Cooper, punter Johnny Hekker, and long snapper Jake McQuaide.

Goff played a tremendous part in turning around the Rams' offense under first-year head coach Sean McVay, going from the league's lowest scoring offense to the top this past season. His vast improvement has quickly changed the narrative of him being a bust, as many analysts view him as one of the more promising young quarterbacks in the league.

With Goff under center and MVP candidate Todd Gurley in the backfield, the Rams have a bright future ahead of them.
