It has been just a few days since the Los Angeles Rams agreed in principle to a trade to acquire All-Pro cornerback Marcus Peters from the Kansas City Chiefs. This has provided plenty of time for Peters to mentally digest the move after spending his first three years in the league with Kansas City.
He has wasted little time in making his feeling known about his soon-to-be previous home in the NFL. During an interview on NFL Network on Monday afternoon, Peters took a subtle shot at former teammate and Chiefs starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes, according to Rich Hammond of the Orange County Register.
Marcus Peters on NFL Network on facing the Chiefs and Pat Mahomes in 2018: "I'm expecting turnovers and I'm expecting a win. He knows how to give me the ball."

Much of this may be him attempting to get under his former teammates' skin ahead of next season while showing his competitiveness. There may be some truth to the comments given that he has seen him in practice all through this past season and has likely seen Mahomes' tendencies throwing the football which gives him the confidence to make such a comment.

Mahomes did show some promise in his lone appearance this season in the season finale win over the Denver Broncos completing 22 of 35 passes for 284 yards with an interception. This includes displaying his strong arm that had earned much recognition and praise leading up to last year's draft.
Peters will get the chance to play against Mahomes and his former employer in 2018 when the two teams play in Mexico City in the regular season. The 25-year-old has also already voiced much confidence in the Rams touting All-Pro running back Todd Gurley and their solid defensive unit.
Marcus Peters, on NFL Network, on the Rams: "We’re going to win games. When you’ve got a running back like I do, when you’ve got a front seven like I do, all I’ve got to do is make plays."

He will have an opportunity to step in and play a significant role in the secondary for the Rams next season. Peters has quickly developed into one of the top corners in the league who has earned a pair of Pro Bowl selections and a First-Team All-Pro nod. He is also the first player since Ed Reed with five interceptions in each of his first three seasons with 19 over that stretch. This should all make for an entertaining meeting between the Rams and Chiefs.
