Last week, the Baltimore Ravens announced their decision last week to sign former Cleveland Browns quarterback Robert Griffin III to a one-year deal. Griffin III has been out of the league for a year, with this marking the first opportunity for him to get back into the swing of things.
He will be tasked with potentially being the primary backup to longtime starter Joe Flacco next season. The 28-year-old appears to be more than prepared for the chance of being around Flacco to learn from him on and off the field this offseason and in the 2018 campaign.

He’s been through a lot of things in his career. He’s been to the pinnacle, won the Super Bowl, Super Bowl MVP. I think that’s a great opportunity to learn from him. Just see the way he attacks the game of football. The way he attacks meeting room, practice, interacting with teammates, all of those types of things. I am really excited about the opportunity and I look forward to meeting him.”
Griffin III has a lot on his plate to prove that he is still an NFL-caliber quarterback after a year away from the game. This could be a chance for him to learn from one of the league's most experienced players at the position who has had much success in his career.
At this moment, Griffin III is looking to just get back in the league and re-establish himself as an NFL quarterback. Although playing time will be sparse, his experience in Baltimore this upcoming season could be crucial in him extending his career well beyond that, be it with the team or another franchise.
All of this will make his time with the Ravens behind Flacco a vital piece to helping him gauge and learn what it takes to be a successful quarterback in the league for the long haul. He appears to be more than ready to soak it in and move forward with his playing career.
