The New Orleans Saints have a new addition to their running game. Veteran running back Adrian Peterson has joined the team on a two-year deal and is highly motivated to make his presence felt in the Big Easy during the 2017 NFL season.

Apparently, Peterson wants to make an impact from start to finish as he's set to face his former team in the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 and if the Saints go the distance they'll end up in Minnesota for the Super Bowl, via ESPN's Mike Triplett.

“In my mind, we’re starting and ending the season in Minnesota,” Peterson said — a reference to Minnesota hosting this year’s Super Bowl. “Of course I want to stick it to them. I want to stick it to everyone we play. But going back to Minnesota, playing the Vikings? Yeah, I want to stick it to them.”

Peterson will start fresh with the Saints this year after spending nine seasons with the Vikings. Knee injuries have plagued the superstar over the years, but sharing carries with Mark Ingram in New Orleans might help his longevity while also potentially getting him back to form as an elite back in the NFL.

Only time will tell if Peterson is the dominant back of old, but he'll be looking to leave his mark come Week 1 against his former team. New Orleans will have a tough stretch to start the 2017 campaign as they face the Vikings on the road right out of the gate and head back home to host the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots in Week 2 before facing Cam Newton's Carolina Panthers in Week 3 at Bank of America Stadium.
