Even though Antonio Brown would love nothing more than to be with the San Francisco 49ers, John Lynch — the team's general manager — says that no talks have initiated.

John Lynch is the second person — the first being Kyle Shanahan — who has confirmed that there's been no official talks between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the 49ers.

This news may disappoint legendary 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice, who has repeatedly said that he would love nothing more than for the embattled Brown to become a 49er, but according to SB Nation, that doesn't mean that there can't be a possibility of Brown coming to the team in the near-future.

“He could be keeping things close to the vest, but for now, the 49ers are holding back in the Antonio Brown market. The Steelers have said they will do what they can to trade Antonio Brown, but they will not deal him for a substandard package. Earlier this month, Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said three teams had reached out about Brown, and this week he said more teams have expressed interest. He also said things are at a “very, very preliminary” stage. The team cannot formally trade Brown until the start of the new league year, so they have plenty of time to move this along.”

Antonio Brown officially went “on the market” as of last week, when he met with the Steelers brass in his hometown of Miami, Florida. Brown's contention with the Steelers has been brewing for a long time.
