The San Francisco 49ers could be the ideal trade destination for Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris.

According to NFL Network's James Palmer (via NFL.com's Jeremy Bergman), Harris, a four-time Pro Bowler, wants a contract which pays him $15 million annually. If the Broncos don't meet his demands, he wants a trade.

CBS Sports' John Breech (via 247Sports.com's Kirk Larrabee) says the 49ers need a cornerback who can start alongside Richard Sherman. Harris fits the bill perfectly.

The Broncos might want to keep Harris, but if his demands are too high, then a trade could be in play, and that's where the 49ers come in.

Although the 49ers have Richard Sherman, they don't really have a bona fide starter to play opposite him.

Breech also notes Jason Verrett, Ahkello Witherspoon, and Tarvarius Moore will compete for the other starting cornerback position. He figures San Francisco's sixth-round draft choice, Tim Harris, won't play much in the 2019 NFL season.

The 49ers also have the fourth-most salary cap space in the league. The question remains if general manager John Lynch is willing to include a first-round draft choice as a part of a potential deal for Harris, per CBS Sports.

Breech also came up with another trade proposal for the 49ers. He proposed the Broncos trade defensive end Solomon Thomas to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a fifth-round draft choice.

Thomas hasn't lived up to expectations since the 49ers drafted him in 2017. A change of scenery would suit him best as this point.

Will Chris Harris end up with the San Francisco 49ers? A cornerback tandem of Harris and Sherman should improve their secondary.

San Francisco sputtered to a 4-12 (.250) win-loss record in 2018. The team also missed the postseason for the fifth straight year.

If the 49ers get Chris Harris, he should play an integral role in their rise back to prominence.
