Jadeveon Clowney has been a key contributor for the Seattle Seahawks in his first year with the organization. Despite an injury, the defensive end is “hoping” to play through it and visited a specialist ahead of Sunday's game versus the Philadelphia Eagles, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
#Seahawks DE Jadeveon Clowney flew ahead of the team, spending Friday meeting with a specialist — believed to be Dr. William Meyers in Philly — before the game vs the #Eagles, source said. Clowney, who has impressed this season, is hoping to play through a hip/core muscle injury.

Through Clowney's first 10 starts in Seattle, he has accumulated three sacks, five tackles for loss, 12 quarterback hits, three forced fumbles, and a pick-six. However, a core injury has hindered the athletic edge rusher in recent weeks on the field.
While the team made their way to Philadelphia, Clowney made his way to see a specialist for his injury. It remains to be seen what the results were of his visit, but regardless, Clowney appears to be ready to play on Sunday.
Thus far, the Seahawks have had a tough time getting to the quarterback. Altogether, Seattle has only tallied 20 sacks (fourth-fewest in the NFL). Clowney only has three of them so far, but he's also the only effective pass rusher that the defense has right now.
Therefore, teams have been able to neutralize him for the most part and make other pass rushers beat them. Even when he's not getting to the quarterback, Clowney is still making a difference in the run game.
The Eagles will be without Lane Johnson on Sunday, who would've been tasked with blocking Clowney. Provided that, Clowney should be able to find his way into the backfield more often against Philadelphia on Sunday.
On the other hand, the Seahawks are hoping that the injury for Clowney doesn't get any worse as the season progresses.
