The Seattle Seahawks acquired Pro Bowl pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney via trade from the Houston Texans just before the team's Week 1 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite the fact that the Bengals made their way to Seattle as heavy underdogs, Cincinnati gave the Seahawks all that they could handle on Sunday afternoon as the NFC West franchise was forced to pull out all the stops in order to claim a victory.
While the newly-acquired Clowney certainly played well, it was another Seahawks defensive lineman that ultimately stole the show. Seahawks defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson finished the 21-20 win with two sacks, two tackles for loss and two pass breakups in what quickly became his best game as a professional football player.

I already knew coming into this game we were going to wreak some havoc so it was good to show the world that.
“I’m a player in this league. I want to make a name for myself this year, as well as everyone else on this D-line. We got a bunch of young, hungry guys.”
Jefferson was previously selected by the Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Maryland. He has since appeared in 25 regular season games atop the highest level while it appears to only be the beginning for the up-and-coming defender.
