The Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings have engaged in a defensive battle in the first half of Monday's showdown that saw scoring come at a premium in the contest.
Despite that, the Seahawks were able to orchestrate a long drive in the final minutes of the second quarter that set them up for first-and-goal at the one-yard line and no timeouts remaining. Seattle looked primed to get some points on the board before the half to add to their 3-0 lead, but all kinds of craziness happened on the next play that switched the momentum entirely.
Russell Wilson, what just happened?!

Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson had attempted to find a receiver open in the end zone initially on the right side but tight coverage from the Vikings forced him to reverse the field but he lost his footing. This is where the play immediately became muddied up as he was forced to retreat further back on the field where he was nearly sacked by linebacker Anthony Barr where he was put in a disastrous spot.
At this moment, Wilson thought he threw the ball the ball away, but Pro Bowl linebacker Eric Kendricks made a huge interception of the underthrown ball. This had turned from initially being a chance for the Seahawks to possibly add a touchdown or field to their lead to the Vikings holding pat to keep it at a 3-0 deficit at the half. It wasn't a productive first half by any means for both teams.
The Seahawks were able to gain 181 total offensive yards but it only equated to just one scoring drive while the Vikings' offensive woes continued as they were unable to generate any offense putting up just 61 total offensive yards with five first downs and 3.0 yards per play. Despite all of that, each team's defense has kept it close for what should be an intriguing second half on Monday night with plenty of play implications involved.
