Earlier in the week superstar defensive back Jamal Adams requested a trade from the New York Jets. This is something that had been building for a long time, but it was unclear whether or not the two sides would agree to something or if everything would blow up.

It appears everything is blowing up. And as part of Adams' trade demand, he has given a list of teams that he wants to be traded too.

That list originally compiled of the Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans.

There is a pretty clear pattern there. They are all better teams in the NFL, ones with legitimate shots at the playoffs. And if they add Adams to their defense, each of those teams could definitely be considered Super Bowl contenders (if they weren't already).

Now Adams is adding one more team to that list though. According to Field Yates of ESPN, Adams has added the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This one makes a lot of sense. As Yates points out, going to Tampa Bay would reunite Adams with his former head coach, Todd Bowles.

More importantly though, it ups the stock of Tampa Bay even more. Going into the offseason, the Buccaneers were just another team.

They have added a ton of pieces though. And those most importantly include superstar quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski coming out of retirement to join his buddy.

Those additions made the Buccaneers a legitimate Super Bowl contender. If they can find a way to add Adams on defense, they might have to be considered a favorite to win the whole thing.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Will Adams add any more teams to his list? Will he even be traded? Or will the Jets decide to stick with him and see what happens?

A lot can happen between now and the beginning of the 2020 season. So let's just sit back and enjoy the ride.
