Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians made some surprising comments about Antonio Brown on Friday during his media session with local reporters.

Arians, who has completely changed his tune on Brown, says the Buccaneers could use AB on special teams.

“He’s a great punt returner and kick returner,” Arians told Buccaneers reporters, per Mike Florio in Pro Football Talk.

“It’s just going to be one of those things where we can get him out there with a live ball and not a jugs machine – get him back to catching them. He’ll give us good depth in that area…I think when you look at him play, his play speed is that fast [and] his play size is that size. He just makes big-man catches. He has unbelievable hands, great body control, he can separate extremely quickly on anybody that’s trying to cover him and he’s a great run after the catch guy because he can catch really well and you don’t have to think about it.

“He’ll take short ones and take them deep. He’s got great work habits and I think when you watch him play, he plays bigger than he is [and] he plays faster than he is.”

Remember when Bruce Arians had no interest in signing Antonio Brown? That feels like years ago with the way the Buccaneers head coach is praising AB now.

Brown will make his Buccaneers debut in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday Night Football on NBC. It's going to be fascinating to see how AB looks after being away from the NFL for so long.

The Buccaneers are atop the NFC South standings with a record of 5-2. Their only two losses on the season have come to the Saints and Chicago Bears.
