For perhaps the first time in his NFL career, Ryan Tannehill is a highly-coveted commodity, as the Tennessee Titans quarterback is getting set to hit free agency later this month.
Tannehill began the 2019 campaign as Marcus Mariota's backup, but supplanted Mariota midway through the season and ended up throwing for 2,742 yards, 22 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 70.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 117.5 in 12 appearances and 10 starts.
Most importantly, Tannehill led the Titans to the playoffs and took them all the way to the AFC Championship Game (although his postseason production was limited).
As a result of Tannehill's success, he will likely draw considerable attention on the open market, and the veteran is looking forward to it:
“We’ll see,” Tannehill said on SiriusXM NFL Radio regarding his future in Tennessee. “It’s gonna be an exciting couple of weeks no matter what happens.”
Of course, the Titans have been mentioned as a potential landing spot for Tom Brady, so Tannehill's status with the club is pretty murky at the moment.

The 31-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Texas A&M, was originally selected by the Miami Dolphins with the eighth overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft.
He spent the first seven years of his career with the Dolphins, posting mostly middling results before being traded to the Titans last offseason.
Based on Tannehill's history, teams may be wary about giving him a lucrative long-term deal, but it seems to be almost a certainty that the Big Spring, Tx. native will have a starting job somewhere in 2020.
