Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill were the key players in the Tennessee Titans' incredible run to the AFC Championship. The first order of business for the Titans is to extend their services, but they plan to do so without any franchise or transitional tags.

According to ESPN's NFL Nation, the Titans don't have a lot of financial leeways to sign their key players while signing both of them to max contracts. If both players are looking for a big payday, they won't likely get that with the team.

However, they do know that staying with Tennessee is also in their best interests. It's hard to imagine that both of them will find many better situations than the one the Titans can offer them right now.

Signing two of the top players in free agency will not be an easy task for Titans GM Jon Robinson. Armed with about $55 million in cap space, Robinson will keep his offensive formula intact by re-signing Henry and Tannehill. Both players are fully aware that Tennessee is the ideal situation for them, which will influence their decisions.

Tannehill got a second wind in his first year with the Titans. While he only played 12 games behind the pocket for the Titans, he finished with 2742 passing yards and 22 touchdowns on a career-high 70% completion rate. It's unlikely that the Titans will let him go at this point.

Meanwhile, Henry was the driving force for their incredible playoff run. The New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens found it hard to stop him, and the Kansas City Chiefs committed a lot of manpower to stopping him. He led the league in rushing yards (1540), rushing attempts (303), rushing touchdowns (16), and rushing yards per game (102.7).

If the Titans do manage to sign the two of them, they will have a great chance of making it back to the AFC Championship next season.
