The Tennessee Titans have been experimenting with Ryan Tannehill substituted in as quarterback for fifth-year signal-caller Marcus Mariota. In the team's Week 8 matchup at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tannehill delivered two first-quarter touchdown strikes (via NFL).

Tannehill first found Titans tight end Jonnu Smith for a 10-yard reception and score on a one-play drive taking over after a Bucs fumble. That initially gave Tennessee the lead before Tampa Bay shortened the margin to one point after kicking a second field goal.

Tannehill, later in the same quarter, hit 24-year-old wide receiver Tajae Sharpe for a six-yard catch and touchdown, extending the Titans' first-half lead to 14-6. That lead has since stayed the same after both teams connected on field goals.

Mariota's fall from grace appears to continue sinking with Tannehill succeeding under center for the Titans, who for the time being are in the playoff hunt at 3-4 and a chance to even their record by defeating the Buccaneers today.
