The Washington Football Team recently found themselves surging as they head to the latter stages of the 2020 NFL season. With a 41-16 rout on Thanksgiving Day against division rival Dallas Cowboys, the squad eventually improved to a 4-7 record to reign supreme in the struggling NFC East division.
In response to their most recent win, the team's Twitter account previously posted a celebratory meme with a picture of the current divisional standings along with the caption “STOP THE COUNT!”, via Yahoo Sports. It was an apparent attempt to join LeBron James and others in the sports world in mocking Donald Trump following the election.
As per Jordan Heck, the tweet has already been deleted on social media by the team's Twitter account hours after posting.

Those famous three words were used in reference to former President Donald Trump's viral tweet at the height of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Elections when he was still trailing his Democratic counterpart Joe Biden in the vote count.
STOP THE COUNT!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 5, 2020
Donald Trump eventually saw his narrow chances of extending his term as Biden went on to gain control of key states near the conclusion of the voting count which eventually secured his victory.
Similar to the former president's fate, the Washington Football Team also wanted to stop playing games while they are still holding the top spot in the division. They only hold a slim lead against the Philadelphia Eagles who are closely trailing behind with a 3-6 record in second place followed by the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys.
The Washington Football Team will look forward to winning their remaining games to book a trip to the 2020 NFL Playoffs as they face a tough assignment in the Pittsburgh Steelers come Week 12.
