A lot of teams are on the hunt for players from the Seattle Kraken. After only getting 34 wins and finishing second-to-last in the Pacific Division, there are a lot of things to change when Dan Bylsma arrives. But, there is no certainty of success for this squad even with the new coaching change. This is probably why a lot of NHL squads are asking Ron Francis if 2022 NHL Draft class member Shane Wright and other members of the team are up for being traded.

The Kraken are reportedly receiving a lot of calls for Shane Wright, per David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period. This center was acquired by Ron Francis and their front office with the fourth pick of the 2022 NHL Draft. Since then, he was able to produce in 16 matches for the Kraken. In total, he racked in five goals alongside seven points.

Prior to a stint with the Kraken, Shane Wright was blazing it up with the Coachella Valley Firebirds. If this squad sounds familiar, it is also where Dan Bylsma used to coach before he caught Ron Francis' eye. With his time in the AHL, Wright has been developing quite well. He has played for 59 games and recorded 47 goals in that span of time. Surely, a call-up to the Kraken or the NHL is coming any time soon.

Will the Kraken let him go?

Despite these numerous teams asking for the fourth overall pick of the 2022 NHL Draft, the Kraken seem firm. They are not going to let go of Wright just yet. After all, they have an average of 2.61 goals per game which is not at all ideal if they want to climb the Pacific Division by next season. To put it into perspective, those numbers are ranked 29th and deeply need the help of Coach Dan Bylsma.

If Wright's development continues to soar, he could be called up to play in their top six. The Kraken do need more players such that they get back into their winning ways in the coming campaign. For now, other squads need to understand that this squad is still figuring out who they are likely keeping based on the new system that Coach Bylsma wants to implement.

The Kraken are not only receiving calls for Wright. Other teams are also very interested in Adam Larsson. This could be a move that they likely pull the trigger on because win-now squads are going to give a lot for his veteran acumen. They could also net more assets to build a better squad if they do choose to let him walk to another team. There is not a lot that the Kraken are working with in this offseason. They only have a $23.1 million cap space to work with which is not that much.

The road is still very long for the Kraken to get back into contention for a Stanley Cup. But, the first thing towards that is getting Coach Bylsma some assets and players that he can work with. It will all likely go up from there if they make the right moves.
