The Carolina Hurricanes are back on their home ice, where they have yet to lose in the 2022 NHL Playoffs. After back-to-back road losses against the Rangers, the series is evened up at 2-2. The Canes will get a significant boost to the lineup ahead of Game 5, however, as alternate captain Jordan Martinook is expected to make his series debut, having been sidelined since Game 3 against the Bruins when he picked up an injury.

Martinook is expected to replace Steven Lorentz on the fourth line after the forward spent 17 minutes in the penalty box during Game 4.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, Martinook had a level of intensity to his comments that will fire up Canes fans.
“I'm gonna be physical, I'm going to bring energy, I'm going to be tenacious and hopefully that can be a bit of a spark,” Martinook said.
The return of Martinook marks the only significant lineup change for Game 5 against the Rangers, as Rod Brind'Amour is looking to roll with the lines that have gotten the team this far.
Offensively, the first line will feature Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen, and the young Seth Jarvis. The second line will consist of Andrei Svechnikov, Vincent Trochek, and Martin Necas. The third line for the Canes will be made up of Nino Niederreiter, Jordan Staal, and Jesper Fast, while the fourth and final offensive line is set to contain Max Domi, Martinook, and Jesper Kotkaniemi.
Defensively, the Canes' pairings will remain the same with partnerships of Jacob Slavin and Tony DeAngelo, Brady Skjei and Brett Pesce, and Brendan Smith and Ian Cole, with Antti Raanta in goal.
