Reimer was injured during Tuesday night's 3-1 loss to the Las Vegas Golden Knights. That game was the 13th consecutive start for the Sharks goaltender. That included two sets of back-to-back games. Reimer's heavy usage has brought Sharks coach Bob Boughner's decision-making into light.

However, Reimer has dispelled any rumors that he was wearing down. While speaking to the press, Reimer provided a little detail on the injury, as Yahoo Sports captured.

“I've had something similar before in my career and it felt similar to that… So I was not too worried that it was going to be something super long-term.” When asked about the other instance, Reimer referenced a groin injury from four seasons ago.

Knowing the Sharks will be without Reimer for at least a couple of weeks, they acquired a former member of San Jose in Alex Stalock. Stalock missed the entire 2020-2021 season and has five appearances for the Bakersfield Condors, Edmonton's AHL affiliate, this season.
