2024 has been a big year for Nike in promoting the Kobe Bryant sneaker series and keeping his legacy relevant at all times. As the most popular sneaker among NBA players, the shoes have a continued streak of love from sneakerheads and hoopers alike. The Nike Kobe 8 returns as one of the highest-performing and comfortable sneakers in the signature line, but we'll see them in an all-new “Champagne” colorway for the first time. Winning five NBA Championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, Bryant was no strangle to popping bottles in the locker room following the biggest moments of his career. Of course, waiting first until the job was actually finished.
Nike Kobe 8 Protro ‘Champagne'
First shown in detailed imagery on IG via @knowing_kicks, the news was later confirmed by several other outlets as the shoes will officially be releasing in the coming months. Right off the bat, we see the stunning Champagne Gold color throughout the snakeskin textile mesh upper. The color extends through the midsole, heel plate, tongue, and laces. The shoes are based in a white Nike Zoom outsole and black accents are seen on the Nike Swoosh, Mamba tongue and heel logos, and the Kobe Bryant signature along the heel. All in all, we see another clean release from Nike on these and fully expect to see players all over the NBA and WNBA rocking these next season.
Nike has yet to release official imagery of the shoes, but this first look could be a great indication that these will be confirmed for the rumored upcoming Fall 2024 release date. They'll come with the typical $190 retail tag for Nike Kobe sneakers and the shoes will drop exclusively on Nike SNKRS app and very select Nike retailers. Expect yet another hyped drop and elevated resale prices following the formal drop for these.
