After a fairly disappointing season that ended on a high note with a Las Vegas Bowl win, the Northwestern football program is ready to recalibrate. The Wildcats first got David Braun to steer the ship. Currently, they are finding the missing pieces to fix their system. Ben Bryant and the offense is going to need some help. Moreover, their defensive unit could also go with some help in direction. This is why big names like South Dakota State's Zach Lujan and Tim McGarigle have been popping up this early in the offseason.

David Braun is starting to make his first moves as the Northwestern football head honcho. He started it off by showing intentions to sign Zach Lujan. Specifically, the South Dakota State specialist is expected to be the Wildcats' offensive coordinator if he chooses to sign with the Ben Bryant-led squad, per Pete Thamel of ESPN. Lujan led South Dakota State to a third-best offense in all of the nation.

The Northwestern football program will also need someone to lead their defensive line and secondary. Overall, this is why Braun is expected to promote Tim McGarigle as the squad's defensive coordinator. He worked with the Wildcats' linebackers. Furthermore, he knows the system well as he has been with them since 2018.
