Gary Harris made a 3-point shot at the buzzer as the Denver Nuggets defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 127-124 Thursday. The loss sent Carmelo Anthony home once again without a win in Denver since he was traded seven years ago.

Anthony didn’t play well against his former team on this night, scoring only 10 points with four rebounds in 34 minutes of action. He also missed all three of his 3-point attempts.

This was Anthony’s second time to play in his old stomping grounds this season but the result remains the same. He has never tasted victory in seven games and it must weigh heavily on Anthony's mind why he hasn’t been able to get over the hump.

His superstar teammates tried to lend a hand to get Anthony his first win in Denver but to no avail. Russell Westbrook had a monster game with 20 points, nine rebounds, and 21 assists to narrowly miss a triple-double while having a 20-point, 20-assist game. Meanwhile, Paul George scored 43 points on 19-for-26 shooting and 5-for-8 from the 3-point area.

Anthony forced a trade from the Nuggets whom he says had other plans in 2011.

“People didn't really know the business side of the situation we were in,” Anthony said in an interview with then-Yahoo! Sports writer Adrian Wojnarowski. “Everybody's contract was up. They had plans of going younger. People from the outside looking in didn't really get it.”

He went to the New York Knicks and became the face of the franchise for the next few years until things went sour both in the front office and on the court. After being playoff contenders for much of those years, the Knicks never went far with Anthony in the lead.

The Knicks traded Anthony to the Thunder last summer with both franchises going in different directions. The Thunder are looking to compete for a championship while the Knicks are now in a rebuilding mode with a new franchise player in Kristaps Porzingis.
