Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant was just one of many people who were left confused after Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic was thrown out of Game 4 against the Phoenix Suns after being called for a flagrant foul penalty two in the third quarter. The newly crowned MVP was tossed after a frustration foul on Cameron Payne that grazed the face of the Suns' back-up guard.

Morant was clearly livid after the officials' decision and went off on social media. The 21-year-old put out a series of tweets expressing his utter disappointment regarding the call.

With the Nuggets playing for their season, The Joker had to show some grit and add a little spice to his demeanor to hopefully inspire his squad. Unfortunately, things took a sour turn when the center took out his frustrations with his team down by eight with under four minutes to go in the third quarter.

To be fair to the MVP, he barely hit Payne on the play but the wind-up and just the mere optics of it all caused him to be ejected as well as fired up Devin Booker. Both Jokic and Booker got face-to-face after the play and had to be separated by their respective teammates. Watching the play again, you could definitely sense where Morant was coming from in saying that a flagrant foul penalty one was probably the right call in this situation.

It's been a frustrating series for The Joker, to say the least. After winning an impressive six-game series against the Portland Trail Blazers in the opening round of the playoffs, the Nuggets were stunned by the red-hot Suns as the second-seeded team in the West mounted a 3-0 series lead. With him out of Game 4, the Nuggets will have a mountain to climb without their leader.
