Denver Nuggets main man Nikola Jokic looks like he’s a man on a mission in Game 3 of the NBA Western Conference Finals.

He was aggressive right from the tipoff against the Los Angeles Lakers, pouring in 11 points in the first quarter on 5-of-7 shooting. He scored in various ways from different parts of the floor, including a tough one-legged shot over LeBron James. Somewhere out there, Dirk Nowitzki is nodding in approval.

Nikola Jokic also grabbed five rebounds and dished out two assists in his first 14 minutes before taking an extended rest on the bench.

He lamented their bitter loss in Game 2, especially their miscommunication in the final possession, which allowed Anthony Davis to sink the game-winning three-pointer in the buzzer. Jokic registered all-around numbers of 30 points, six rebounds, nine assists, and four steals in the defeat.

The Nuggets are looking to avoid getting into a 0-3 hole against the top seed Lakers. They erected a 16-point lead in the middle of the second quarter after a blistering 17-point binge before taking a 10-point lead at halftime, 63-53.

Jokic is averaging 25.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 5.9 assists in his second NBA Playoffs stint.
