Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets have championship aspirations, and by the looks of it, the team is ready to do anything to make that happen soon.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Nuggets owner Josh Kroenke highlighted their goal to compete for the NBA title in the years to come. To do so, they are more than willing to spend and even pay the luxury tax if it means putting out the best team possible.

“Our stated goal…is to win a championship…that has not changed,” Kroenke said, per Ryan Blackburn of Mile High Sports.

It is certainly difficult to build a championship team and most of the time, a franchise must be ready to spend big to get huge returns. After all in today's NBA, a one-star team like the Nuggets will have a hard time competing against squads with two to three All-Star-caliber players at their disposal.

The Nuggets' commitment to spend and build a contender is certainly a welcome news to fans. Besides, if you have the two-time MVP Nikola Jokic on your side, you would want to get the best possible players around him since you know you can compete with him having the necessary help needed.

It remains to be seen what the Nuggets will do in the offseason, but they are certainly a team to keep an eye on.
