Paul Millsap came in this off-season to the Denver Nuggets to be a leader for this team as they fought their way to the playoffs.

He got injured early on though and he is just now returning to the court. It has led the Nuggets to not really have a true leader early on in the season, and Millsap told Gina Mizell of the Denver Post that can't be the case anymore, and Nikola Jokic needs to step up into that role.

Paul Millsap has echoed that Nikola Jokic needs to be more aggressive: “He’s such a humble guy, that sometimes he looks for me to do things. And it’s him. He’s our team. He makes a lot of things go for us…I’m here to help him and back him in any way possible.

Jokic is becoming a star in this league although if there is one knock on him, it does have to do with his leadership. This season, he is averaging 17.1 points, 10.5 assists and six rebounds per game.

He is one of the most gifted passing big men in the league right now, and if he can continue how he is playing now, it could turn out to be one of the best ever.

But for right now, it's about the team and if Jokic wants to take that next step forward in his development, he needs to take away the leadership role away from Paul Millsap, something that Millsap really wants to give up.
