Another NBA star has withdrawn from Team USA’s training camp ahead of the 2019 FIBA World Cup, with Denver Nuggets forward Paul Millsap pulling his name from contention. With more and more players dropping out as the days go by, Team USA has added a few new players to the team, including Millsap's Nuggets teammate, Mason Plumlee:

Montrezl Harrell is expected to withdraw as well, despite his late addition to the roster.

Millsap’s departure is just another in the long line of players to decommit from the team, with other stars like James Harden, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal all pulling their name from consideration earlier this month. With many of the brightest stars now sitting out, Team USA is looking at a suddenly not-so-easy run through the FIBA World Cup. While the team might still end up being the favorite when all is said and done, it likely won't be as easy for Team USA as it has been in the past.

In addition to Mason Plumlee, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Julius Randle, and Thaddeus Young have all been added to the squad. USA Basketball also announced 13 invitations for the Select Team, featuring numerous up-and-coming players from around the NBA.
