The Denver Nuggets boast one of the deepest rosters in the NBA, which has made some of their players expendable. With the upcoming season less than a week away, ESPN's Brian Windhorst revealed that the Nuggets tried to trade Gary Harris to several teams during the offseason.

Back in the 2017-2018 season, Harris had his best year with Denver, posting a career-best 17.5 points, 2.9 assists, and 1.8 steals per game in 65 games. Following his career year with the Nuggets, Denver inked him to a four-year, $84 million extension to reward him for his potential.

However, ever since signing the extension, Harris has been unable to remain healthy for the Nuggets. In the past two seasons, Harris has missed a total of 42 games due to injury, with him missing 17 games last season.

Harris is a guard that can excel on both ends of the floor when he's healthy and is a capable three-point shooter. With that being said, teams were likely hesitant to acquire the Michigan State product due to his injuries in recent seasons.

For the Nuggets, they're extremely deep at nearly every position, especially on the wings. Besides Harris, Denver currently has Will Barton, PJ Dozier, R.J. Hampton, and Michael Porter Jr. if they choose to use him at the small forward position.

Provided that, the Nuggets realize that they could move Harris for some cap relief or use him as a player that could be packaged for a star player in a trade. Despite Denver's willingness to move the former first-round pick, there haven't been any suitors since the beginning of the offseason.
