San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich wasn't the only one who got tossed on Sunday. Denver Nuggets forward Nikola Jokic also went ballistic at the referees.

Forbes SportsMoney Denver Nuggets contributing writer Joel Rush tweeted a video of Jokic yapping at the officials during a game against the visiting Washington Wizards on March 31.

Jokic knotted the count at 88 apiece on a reverse layup with 3:47 left in the game. He then got into a referee's face claiming Wizards forward Bobby Portis fouled him as he made the shot. The official teed up Jokic twice and in rapid-fire succession. This resulted in the latter's ejection from the game.

Nuggets guard Will Barton stepped in and also made his case to the referee. As Jokic was about to go to the dugout, his teammates Paul Millsap and Gary Harris tried to restrain him. Jokic was still protesting loudly to the officials as he was about to leave the court.

In the aftermath of Denver's 95-90 home loss to Washington (the former's third loss in the last five games), Rush tweeted Jokic needs to continue asserting himself.

Despite the loss, the Nuggets still have a 51-25 (.671) win-loss record – the second-best in the Western Conference and fourth-best in the league. As of Sunday, Denver trails the defending champions Golden State Warriors by just a game for the No. 1 playoff spot in the West.

As for the Wizards (32-46), they have officially bowed out of playoff contention.

Jokic, a 2019 NBA All-Star, has been leading the Nuggets in points (20.2), rebounds (10.9), assists (7.4), and steals (1.3). He has spent the entirety of his four-year NBA career in Denver.
