The Edmonton Oilers currently own the fifth best record in the Western Conference while fielding one of the best one-two punches in the league in last year's MVP Connor McDavid and the 2020 MVP Leon Draisaitl. Still, Edmonton might not make the list of many as Stanley Cup playoff favorites. That suits Draisaitl just fine. The 2020 winner of the Hart Memorial Trophy delivered an epic warning to the rest of the league with the playoffs set to begin on May 2, as reported by ESPN.

Draisaitl is not only confident in the Oilers' Stanley Cup chances, he said that “he wouldn't want to play” his team in the first round. He also added that he wouldn't want to play them period.

The star center/winger has a point. While the Oilers don't have the greatest point differential, they do boast two of the NHL's leading scorers, with Draisaitl second and McDavid fifth. The two rank third and first in points, respectively.

That is quite the combination for opposing teams to have to deal with in the Stanley Cup playoffs. However, it might not just be this year, either.

The NHL could have trouble facing the Oilers for years to come, given the ages of Draisaitl, 26 and McDavid, 25.
