In case you were wondering about the health of one OJ Simpson during the pandemic, the 73-year-old posted a photo to Twitter on Friday showing him receiving (presumably) his first round of the COVID-19 vaccine.

In the image, the former NFL running back (among other things) can be seen rolling up his sleeve for the shoulder injection while donning a mask reading “The Juice.” He used his caption to encourage his nearly 900,000 followers to get the vaccine.

“Get your shot. I got mine!!!”, Simpson wrote.

On Oct. 3, 2008—exactly 12 years after the former Buffalo Bills star was acquitted of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman—Simpson was found guilty of 12 charges related to armed robbery and kidnapping after a 2007 incident involving sports memorabilia in Las Vegas. OJ Simpson was sentenced to 33 years in federal prison but was granted parole and freed after serving nine.

Since his release, Simpson has been spending much of his free time hanging out (in Nevada?) playing golf and posting videos to Twitter covering mostly NFL topics such as fantasy football, the Bills' playoff run, and Tom Brady. (His other Twitter post on Friday was a video message paying tribute to legendary Hollywood icon Cicely Tyson, who died on Thursday at 96.)

Regardless of the messenger, I can't argue with his sentiment: get vaccinated when you can, folks—even if you were previously tried for double-murder like OJ Simpson.

Also, if you haven't seen Ezra Edelman's Academy Award-winning docu-series, “O.J.: Made in America,” I highly recommend you set eight hours aside to do so.
