Could Brennan Marion replace Jeff Lebby as Oklahoma football offensive coordinator?

Marion currently spearheads a high-octane offense for UNLV football. Consequently, he's become a hot coaching commodity for the 2024 NCAA season, per All Hogs' Jacob Davis.

Mississippi State football hired Jeff Lebby as its next head coach on Monday. Lebby's offense also has a sterling reputation. He previously served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at UCF, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma since 2019.

Behind Jeff Lebby's leadership, those three programs combined to score at least 50 points 14 times in the past four years. No other offensive coordinator in the country has that many 50-point games during that span.

Jeff Lebby also helped propel Oklahoma to Top 6 in the nation in total offense this season.

Lebby signed a five-year deal with Mississippi State football. He takes over for Zach Arnett, who had a 4-6 win-loss record in his first full year as Mississippi State's head coach. Arnett replaced Mike Leach, who passed away last year.

Oklahoma football's 43.2 points-per-game average is one of the highest in the country. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel racked up 3,660 passing yards and 30 touchdowns in the air this season. He also added 373 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns.

If Oklahoma football hires Brennan Marion, their high-scoring ways will continue. Marion's offense at UNLV ranked 19th overall this season.

Not only that, but Brennan Marion has also helped develop UNLV quarterback Jayden Maiava and running backs Vincent Davis, Jr., Jai'Den Thomas, and Donavyn Lester.

On that note, Marion will play a prominent role in the development of Jackson Arnold as Oklahoma football's starting signal caller in 2024.

Oklahoma football bids adieu to the Big 12 and moves to the SEC next year. Will Brennan Marion become part of this vital transition?

Stay tuned.
